The site is still under development as users slowly start to trickle in and more user data becomes available. You will see constant updates on the main page about new features as they are released. MusicBrainz is one of the largest and most comprehensive music databases in the world. Housing over 6 million tracks, half a million releases and over 300 thousand artists. It is managed by over 350 thousand editors from around the world, which allows the data to be very accurate.
MusicBrainz uses PostgreSQL to hold the database. MB_MySQL allows this data to run on any unix based system supporting MySQL v5.

Thanks to the awesome programmers at MusicBrainz, it has long held a reputation for being completely open source and MB_MySQL sticks to that tradition. You may download any of the source code (including this entire web interface to run on your local server).
